about The Sixth Borough Comedy Festival (6BCF)
Art House Productions hosted the first annual 6th Borough Comedy Fest (6BCF) from June 7th-10th 2018. 6BCF was held held in Downtown Jersey City with over 70 performers, from the US and Canada. The fest featured Stand Up, Sketch, Improv, Comedy Podcasts and more. Industry judges at the Stand-Up showcases included Comedy Central, Stand-Up New York, West Side Comedy Club and Catch A Rising Star.
Gilbert Gottfried headlined the fest at Art House Productions. 6 comedians were selected from the preliminary rounds by industry judges to open for Gottfried’s SOLD OUT show on June 9th, 2018!
Art House Productions has long awarded adventurous and diverse performing artists with a stage to expose audiences to their ambitious and challenging projects. Like the theater, 6BCF puts a premium on diversity and inclusion in comedy.

Meredith Burns is the Executive Director of Art House Productions. She began her career as an actor working off-broadway and regionally at theaters such as Pregones Theater/PRTT, The New Ohio, The Shakespeare Theater of DC, and Sierra Repertory. She is a founding member of Glass Bandits Theater Company, a not-for-profit organization based in Brooklyn, and from 2010-2014 served as the company's Managing Director. She currently performs sketch comedy on the Magnet Theater's long-running house team, The Executives. From 2014-2017, Meredith built and directed a comprehensive arts and literacy based after school program at New Voices Middle School in Brooklyn serving upwards of 200 children daily. She received her BFA in acting from SUNY Purchase and is a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA.
Comedian Rich Kiamco has been featured on SeeSo, performed in The Boston Comedy Festival, Asheville Comedy Festival, Maine Comedy Festival, San Diego Comedy Festival, and has opened for Gilbert Gottfried and Louie Anderson in Las Vegas. Broadway Comedy Club awarded him with a comic residency which was extended for an additional month. Kiamco received the Overall Excellence Award at the NY Fringe + Best Solo Performance at the Montreal GLBT International Theatre Festival and has performed on campuses across the USA, Canada, China and the Philippines. Rich was featured on BRAVO’s Queer Eye For The Straight Guy, co-hosted the WE channel’s 3 Men And A Chick Flick, he has appeared on The Howard Stern Show, The Wendy Williams Show and 2Point Lead with Yannis Pappas. Rich can be seen with youtube sensation Vic Dibitetto on The Vic Dibitetto Show with Marion Grodin. He appears on BuzzFeed's Follow This on Netflix. His Podcast WTY We There Yet? is available on iTunes. He was pictured on the cover of the NY Times Sunday Styles with The ManKind Project, and his Op-Ed on Kevin Hart was published in USA Today.
Xavier is a Bronx-born, Puerto Rico-raised, South Carolina-educated, and Washington, DC-polished actor / improviser / writer / teacher / comms. strategist / coach & diviner now living in NYC. He began studying improv in 1998, which led to a few movie roles and him becoming a super-legit Meisner-trained actor, He's been a serious & comedic stage and film actor/director since 2005, where he began his studies at USC. In 2009 he made his return to improv comedy at Theatre99 in Charleston, SC. Xave later moved to Washington, DC where he was an incredibly active member of the improv community, performing improv at Dojo Comedy, DC Improv, The Unified Scene, and at Washington Improv Theater (WIT) - where he performed on multiple Harold teams and the weekend team of legendary ne'er-do-wells, Season Six. Xavier was also an actor/writer on DC's the longest-running sketch comedy team, Brick Penguin. Xavier has studied sketch comedy and completed improv training programs at WIT, UCB (post-academy) and at the Magnet Theater. Since arriving in NYC Xavier has directed multiple improv teams, performed as a character actor, and as can be seen weekly in the Magnet Theater Saturday night improv show, The Armando Diaz Experience. Xavier can be frequently seen in sketch comedy at UCBHK and with his Friday night team, The Executives, at the Magnet Theater.
